The Logistics Control Centre Team Leader is responsible for organizing a team of operational planners in the Logistic Control Tower. The core activity is the planning and management of transport of orders/ shipments in accordance with given requirements and existing network structure by using the best fit solution, the vast majority of shipments will be via road, rail or sea freight. This role is responsible for Asset Scheduling, to optimize net profit and minimize expenses, by analyzing strategic information and preparing reports for Operations, Sales and Procurement to maintain a balance between Sales and Utilization.
Organize and manage the day to day operational team activities within own remit
Consolidation planning to maximize utilization of Backbone Networks (Rail/Road/River)
Support set up and stabilization of activities including ensure minimum to no variance from Asset Utilization Schedule
To ensure customer issues and queries are handled quickly and resolved efficiently to the customers satisfaction and/or escalated to the appropriate manager To manage the operation closely, coordinate team workload and monitor jobs and assets in the field
Ensure Operating Procedures and Work Instructions are (kept) up to date
To provide efficient management of and clear and timely communication on; deviations, damages in transit and additional costs
Management of process deviations and exceptions
To communicate with the customer and suppliers on a regular basis; verbally, via E-Mail, WebEx conferencing and face to face
Maintain regular (Demand, Supply, Utilization, Driver Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) reports to support strategic planning for Sales, Operation and Asset Procurement/ Vendor management
Process Evaluation and Service Quality Review of Operational Metrics, Fleet Metrics, Staff Metrics, etc.
